The importance of autonomous humanities has been structurally neglected by education administrators. Years of cutbacks have led to larger work groups, the disappearance of courses and specializations, a higher workload for teachers and less time for research. Problems that will only increase in the aftermath of the corona crisis. As a student council we will have to deal with the question of how to shape our education in the ‘one and a half meter society’. As a member of the council, I want to make an effort to ensure that measures that are now temporarily necessary, such as online lectures and fewer contact hours, do not become a cost-saving standard.
